EMDR is a time-efficient, comprehensive methodology for the treatment of traumatic experiences. An integrated model that draws form behavioral, cognitive, psychodynamic, body-based, and systems therapies, EMDR provides profound and stable treatment effects in a short period of time. Through the use of eye movement or other bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps victims of trauma reprocess disturbing thoughts or traumatic memories. EMDR was developed by Francine Shapiro.
