sexual anorexia

Denying a part of your sexuality is a depriving yourself of a full experience of life. People that
experience sexual anorexia often suffer silently, consumed by a dread of sexual pleasure and filled with fear and sexual self-doubt. A sexual anorexic will typically experience the following; fear of sexual contact, avoidance of anything sexual, preoccupation with others being sexual, distortions of self-image, fear of sexual consequences, and shame or depression due to past sexual experience. A lesser form of sexual anorexia involves sexual avoidance in which the person avoids sexuality due to fear of intimacy. Learn how to move towards your sexuality at a pace and level that is safe and in alignment with your needs.
