shame reduction
shame reduction
Shame begins to heal in a safe and trusting environment. Shame can be described as a painful feeling of humiliation or distress caused by the perception of having done something wrong or inappropriate. It is often accompanied by feeling deeply exposed, a strong sense of guilt, embarrassment or disgrace. Common defenses against shame include denial, withdrawal, perfectionism, narcissism, or anger. Underneath shame is sometimes deep anger or rage that covers up deeper feelings of fear, rejection or abandonment. At Life Design Centre we work with you to reduce shame and experience the freedom that comes from that process.
